Kathmandu
Being back in Kathmandu is almost unreal. All the noise, the many people, narrow alleys are a huge contrast compared to what we were just able to experience in the Himalayas.
Kathmandu, the vibrant capital of Nepal, is a city of contrasts. Amidst ancient temples and modern buildings, you feel a unique atmosphere. The streets are lively, filled with motorcycles, pedestrians, and colorful markets offering spices, handicrafts, and clothing. The scent of incense lingers in the air, while the constant honking and lively chatter form a unique melody of the city.
Within this lively chaos, you can find oases of peace, such as Durbar Square, with its centuries-old palaces and statues. The Boudhanath Stupa and Swayambhunath Temple also offer spaces for reflection and wonder. Kathmandu combines tradition and modernity in a fascinating way and is the perfect starting point to explore the stunning Himalayas.
